the mvi46 ethernet/ip (df1 for ethernet) client/server communication module is an slc backplane compatible module that allows slc processors to interface easily with ethernet/ip protocol (explicit messaging) compatible devices and hosts. devices commonly supporting the protocol include rockwell automation plcs, and host hmi systems.

the module can send read or write commands to remote devices on the ethernet/ip network. the mvi46-dfnt also has 20 servers that allows the module to receive commands from remote devices. the mv46-dfnt pass-through server allows the user to edit, download, and upload the slc ladder logic using an ethernet connection. up to 100 commands can be configured by the user.
